As they move into the outdoor segment of their schedule, the Vanderbilt track team is hoping to have a productive showing in Tuscaloosa, Ala., this weekend -- and freshman Sarah Goodale did her part to set the tone on Thursday.
Competing in the heptathlon at the Alabama Relays, Goodale was in fourth place at the end of the Day 1.
Goodale opened her day by posting a time of 14.82 in the 100-meter hurdles. Moving to the high jump, she cleared 4-11.75 on first jump, cleared 5-1 on her second and then 5-2.25 on her third.
She then capped her day with a distance of 31-5.75 in the shot put, followed by a time of 25.80 in the 200.
The Relays resume today -- with several more Commodores getting into action -- and run through Saturday.
