Monday marked the start of game week for the Vanderbilt women's soccer team, and as training sessions begin to ramp down in advance of Friday night's season opener, Mother Nature decided to cancel the Commodores' morning session at the VU Soccer Complex. With lightning in the area, the team had an indoor work out with strength coach Kristina Jeffries before studying film.
Weather cleared up in the afternoon, however, and Head Coach Derek Greene had his squad back outside for a 4 p.m. training session that focused on set pieces.
The Commodores will play their first of four games on the road to open the 2012 season this Friday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m. CT at Tennessee-Martin.
