The Vanderbilt women's golf team will participate in one of their sport's marquee tournaments this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C., at the Long Cove Club.
The tournament, named after former front man of Hootie and the Blowfish and current country superstar Darius Rucker, is a 54-hole event that will take place at the par-71, 6,142-yard Long Cove Club. Eighteen holes will be played each day of the tournament. Prior to the tournament on Thursday night, the teams will enjoy a private concert from Rucker himself to kick off the event's festivities.
The University of South Carolina, who will serve as host of the event for the weekend, welcomes Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona State, Auburn, Duke, Furman, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee, Virginia, Wake Forest, and the Commodores to the tournament.
Vanderbilt is hoping to build on their first spring tournament, where they finished first at the Central District Invitational in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
Live scoring will be available from golfstat.com throughout the weekend.
