    Franklin's post-practice interview

    Dec. 5, 2012

Vanderbilt was back on the practice field Wednesday night for the first time since learning what bowl game it would play in.

The Commodores will play NC State in the Music City Bowl at LP Field on Dec. 31. Vanderbilt will enter the contest with an 8-4 record, while the Wolfpack are 7-5 on the year. NC State will be playing without its coach from the regular season after Tom O'Brien was fired after six seasons.

NC State hired Dave Doeren, who was at Northern Illinois, as O'Brien's replacement, but he will not coach in the bowl game. Instead, offensive coordinator Dana Bible will handle the head coaching duties in the game.

Franklin was asked Wednesday if he has to prepare differently for the game given NC State's coaching situation.

"They will have a few new wrinkles like everyone does for bowl games, but Dana Bible is a real good coach," Franklin said. "They will be ready, they will be prepared. It will be pretty much what they've been doing."
