James Franklin will do anything to promote Vanderbilt's football program.
No matter the task, Franklin sees it as another chance to build the Commodore fan base.

"We'll go to backyard parties and blow up balloons," Franklin quipped.
Add ice cream delivery to the list. Last week, the head football coach spent an hour handing out free cold treats to faculty and staff at Vanderbilt's monthly employee celebration event on campus. ( Watch Video)
Franklin took the task of distributing Nutty Buddy's seriously, too. He persuaded passersby to go with the popular cones over other options, including ice cream cups, yogurt bars and fudge pops.
"The Nutty Buddy's dominated the ice cream (giveaway). We killed the Creamsicle," said Franklin, following his lunch shift. "Everything we do for Vanderbilt football we try to compete and dominate, and we did that today."
Competition aside, Franklin jumped at the chance to connect with the campus community, talking with fans eager for the Commodores' home opener on Aug. 30.
"It was great being out on campus and getting to interact with all the people that work here," Franklin concluded. "It's just another opportunity to sell what we're doing."
