BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Vanderbilt's first three games of the 2013 season will feature primetime kickoffs, according to a joint announcement by ESPN and Southeastern Conference today from SEC Media Days.
Kickoff for the Vanderbilt-Austin Peay game on Saturday, Sept. 7 will be at 6:30 p.m., CT in Vanderbilt Stadium Stadium. The Commodores' road game against SEC Eastern Division foe South Carolina on Sept. 14 will kick off at 6 p.m.
Vanderbilt, coming off a 9-4 campaign capped by a convincing victory in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, will open this season by hosting SEC Western Division annual rival Ole Miss on Thursday, Aug. 29, with kickoff at 8:15 p.m., CT.
The joint announcement also includes television on the Commodores' first three games. After the Ole Miss opener on ESPN, the Commodores will face Austin Peay on Comcast Sports South (CSS) and South Carolina on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.
With Tuesday's announcement, the start times for Vanderbilt's first four games are now known. In addition to the Ole Miss, Austin Peay and South Carolina games, UMass recently announced that Vanderbilt's game in Foxborough, Mass., will begin at 11 a.m. CT.
Season tickets remain available, starting at $145 and $160 for Vanderbilt Stadium end zone sections. Tickets can be purchased online or via phone at (615) 322-GOLD (4653). The Vanderbilt Ticket Office also is open during regular hours on weekdays in McGugin Athletics Center, 2601 Jess Neely Drive.
