Edwards did not see game action as a true freshman defensive line candidate... Impressed at defensive end on scout teams during the season... Also used the campaign to add bulk and strength.

As senior, was a standout for defense that allowed only 35 total points during the regular season... Registered 15 quarterback sacks and 23 tackles for loss among 67 total tackles as senior, helping 12-1 Panthers to first undefeated regular season in school history... Named First Team All-State and All-Region as senior... Posted a sack in postseason Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas All-Star Game appearance... Contributed four sacks among 26 tackles in five appearances as a junior... Lettered in wrestling prior to focusing on football as junior... High academic achiever.
