DeVault-Smith did not participate during his first year on campus... Displayed excellent skills and energy as a scout team linebacker during the regular season.

Senior captain... Two-year starter, three-year letterwinner for one of Middle Tennessee's top public school programs... As a senior middle linebacker, named Region Defensive MVP after posting 155 total tackles, 26 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles, helping Pearl-Cohn to 12-2 record and 4A state final appearance... Also averaged 14 yards on 10 receptions as senior H-back... Named to All-State, All-Midstate, All-Metro and All-Region teams... Started in postseason Tennessee East-West All-Star Classic... Firebirds played in state semifinals or finals all three years of varsity career... Though a member of Pearl-Cohn squad, attends Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet School in the city... As a senior was finalist for Hume Award, given to top student-athlete in metro Nashville schools.
