Vanderbilt first baseman Conrad Gregor has been named a Second Team preseason All-American by Perfect Game. The preseason All-American nod is the second preseason recognition for Gregor, who was tabbed as a second team member on Collegiate Baseball's Louisville Slugger All-American squad.
Gregor has been a machine for the Commodores since arriving on campus in 2011. The junior has compiled 70 hits in his first two seasons on West End and played in 121 of the Commodores' 129 games. He led the team in hitting as a freshman in 2011 with a .353 average on his way to earning Freshman All-American honors. Last season, he hit .328 with 20 doubles and 35 RBI. Over the summer, the Carmel, Ind. native lit up the Cape Cod League hitting .329 with eight home runs and 21 RBI on his way to earning Summer All-American status from Perfect Game.
Gregor and the Commodores open preseason practice on Friday at Hawkins Field and host Long Beach State in the season opener on February 15. The team's annual Baseball Banquet is February 9 at the Student Life Center. For banquet and season ticket information click here.
