As a Freshman (2024)
• Won the invite division of the long jump (6.14m, 2.4 m/s) and was sixth in the 100 meters prelims (11.65, 1.6 m/s), second in qualifying (11.59, 2.1 m/s) at the Music City Challenge
• 10th in the 100 meters (11.76) at the USF Alumni Invitational
• Fifth overall in the 60 meters (7.57), had the second-fastest qualifying time (7.53), also placed eighth in the 200 meters (24.61m) at the Music City Challenge
• Fifth overall and top freshman finisher in the long jump (5.79m) at the Crimson Elite
• Third in the long jump (5.85m) and first as a member of the 4×400-meter relay (3:43.01) at the Vanderbilt Invitational
The Gooden File
Lena Gooden was a four-time VHSL Class 6 state champion in the long jump (indoor and outdoor) while prepping at Osbourn Park. There, she recorded prep bests of 20′ 4.5″ (6.21m) in the long jump, 38′ 1.5″ (11.62m) in the triple jump, 8.04 seconds in the 60 meters and 12.12 seconds in the 100 meters. She is a two-time VHSL Class 6 Region B champion in the long jump (indoor and outdoor) and was the runner-up in the triple jump (outdoors) and 55 meters (indoors) at the regional meet in 2023. At the 2023 New Balance Nationals, Gooden placed third in the indoor long jump and 12th in the outdoor long jump. In 2021, she was second in the long jump at the AAU Indoor National Championships.
