The Steer File
Clara Steer prepped at Pacific Ridge High School and recorded prep bests of 2:14 in the 800 meters, 5:03 in the 1,600 meters, 18:00.1 in the three miles (XC) and 18:45.3 in the 5K (XC). She was the 2023 Coastal Conference in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 meters. Steer also won the Coastal Conference title in the 1,600 meters in 2022 and was the runner-up in the 3,200 meters. As a senior, she placed 11th at the CIF State Cross Country Championships and was the runner-up at the conference meet. She won the Athlete of the Year Award as a senior. Academically, Steer won the Academic Excellence Award and was a member of the Cum Laude Society.

Clara’s father competed for Colgate’s track and field team.
