Bria Bennis prepped at Elmhurst (York) and owns prep-best times of 4:58.47 in the 1,600 meters, 10:24.34.08 in the 3,200 meters, 16:56.4 in the three miles (XC) and 17:32.2 in the 5K (XC). She is a six-time all-state selection and an 11-time all-conference honoree in track and field and cross country. Twice, Bennis was a regional cross country champion, and in 2022, she was a sectional cross country champion. She was third at the state cross country championships and in the 3,200 meters at the state track and field championships. A member of the National Honor Society and of her school’s high honor roll, Bennis received the John Newton Award of Excellence and IHSA All-Academic Athletic honorable mention. In 2022, she was named the West Suburban Conference Female Cross Country Athlete of the Year.
