When the Vanderbilt XC/TF program announced its 2014 signing class last spring, head coach Steve Keith said he believed the seven newcomers would be able to "come in and contribute right away."

It won't be long before he finds out if this prediction comes true.

The touted freshmen class -- along with the returning Commodores -- will soon hit the ground running, and they essentially won't slow down until the end of track season next spring. The journey begins next week, when the Commodores travel to Pickett State Park for team camp in Jamestown, Tenn. The cross-country Commodores then have their first meet, the Belmont Opener, on Aug. 29.
