Vandy finishes 18th at Wisconsin

Wisconsin adidas Invitational Results MADISON, Wis. -- The Vanderbilt women's cross country team finished 18th at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational on Friday, October 12, scoring 489 team points. The field was the deepest in the nation on the season, featuring 20 top-30 programs. Vanderbilt was paced by Liz Anderson, Kristen Findley and Hannah Jumper, who all placed in the top 60 of the 327-runner field. Anderson and Findley stuck together, finishing 36th and 37th with identical times of 20:22. Jumper was close behind, placing 59th with a mark of 20:34. The rest of the Commodores struggled to keep up with the top-three. Kristen Smith scored 165 points, finishing in 21:10. Rebecca Chandler contributed 192 points to the team score, clocking a time of 21:20. Jordan White (21:23) and Grace Orders (21:37) did not factor in the scoring. Iowa State won the team title with 109 points. Cal Poly freshman Laura Hollander won the individual title, shattering the course record with a time of 19:33. The women's "B" squad will run tomorrow at the Evansville Invitational. In two weeks, Vanderbilt will return to action when the host the 2012 SEC Championships at Percy Warner Park on Friday, October 26. The Commodores will be looking to defend their 2011 women's team conference championship.
