The Vanderbilt track and field team will compete at two meets this weekend, with the distance runners heading to the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Va., while the rest of the squad heads to the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla.

It marks the third weekend of competition on the outdoor season for the Commodores, following the annual Black & Gold meet at the Vanderbilt Track and the Yellow Jacket Invitational last weekend. The early highlight for Vanderbilt is freshman Sara Barron, who ran a 1,500 meter time of 4:21.80 at the Black & Gold. Her mark ranks second in the Southeastern Conference, 11th in the East region and 22nd in the nation. Her time is also the fifth-best nationally for a freshman.

Competing for the first time in the outdoor season will be junior high jumper Brionne Williams. The Hoover, Ala., native became the first Commodore to earn All-America honors since 2005 by finishing 15th in the nation at the 2013 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Williams' top jump of the indoor season was 1.83 meters (6') and she will look to build on a carrer-best outdoor mark of 1.78 meters (5' 10").
