In the final meet before the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships, the Vanderbilt track team travels to Arkansas this weekend to compete in the Tyson Invitational, hosted by the University of Arkansas. The meet features 14 teams ranked in the top 25 in the latest national poll and four other SEC teams.
Competition begins Friday at noon with the evening sessions beginning at 6 p.m. Along with Arkansas, who is ranked No. 6 in the nation, No. 1 Oregon, No. 3 LSU, No. 4 Clemson, No. 9 Auburn, No. 10 Florida State, No. 15 Oklahoma, No. 17 Central Florida, No. 18 Texas Tech, No. 19 Penn State, No. 20 Indiana, No. 21 South Carolina, No. 22 TCU and No. 23 Louisville are competing this weekend. Florida, Georgia, Kentucky and Ole Miss will also be participating.
At previous meets this winter, the Commodores have set several personal records and are working towards breaking school records. At the Rod McCravy Memorial Meet at the end of January, Katherine Hendricks, Morgan Toone and Meagan Martin were all attempting to clear the school record in the pole vault, while Louise Hannallah and Allie Scalf both posted personal best times in the one mile run.
