LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Vanderbilt track and field team travels to Kentucky this weekend for its second meet of the year. The Rod McCravy Memorial Meet, named in honor of a former Kentucky track athlete, runs Friday and Saturday at the E.J. Nutter Field House on the campus of the University of Kentucky.
The meet begins Friday evening with select field events and resumes Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. CT. The Commodores will be competing against 17 other teams, including Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Cincinnati, Eastern Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Memphis, Miami, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Purdue, Southern Illinois, UT Chattanooga and Western Kentucky.
Two weeks ago, the Commodores competed at the Kentucky Invitational and posted several personal-best times and heights. Senior Katherine Hendricks finished in a three-way tie for second place in the pole vault, clearing a height of 12’1.5”. Freshman Ellie Tidman moved to third all-time in the high jump at Vanderbilt with a height of 5’7.25”.
Allie Scalf cut 24 seconds off her personal time in the 3000-meter run with a time of 9:52.07. Also posting a personal-best time in the 3000-meter was Kristabel Doebel-Hickok with a time of 9:58.05.
