THIS YEAR IN CROSS COUNTRY: Contributed to the Commodores' sixth-place finish at the SEC Cross Country Championships. 2009: As a junior Black did notcompete indoors or outdoors during track season. In Cross Country: Put together her best year in a Commodore uniform... Opened the season with a 19th place overall finish at the Commodore Classic, running 5K home course in 19:29.96... Backed up that effort with 5K personal best of 19:13.62 at the Louisville Classic... In first 6K race of season, ran 23:35.9 atPre-National Invitational... Closed the year with a 71st overall finish at the Southeastern Conference Championships, cutting 15 seconds off previous 6K best with 23:20.95 clocking. 2008: As a sophomore Black did not compete indoors or outdoors during track season. In Cross Country: Contributed to team effort at SEC Cross Country Championships, finishing fifth among Commodores with 23:12.16 (6K)... Early in season, ran 30th overall at Commodore Classic (5K distance in 19:30.48)... Top team finish was fourth at Colonial Inter-Regional Challenge and Chile Pepper meets... Did not compete in any track events in 2008. 2007: Ran best 1500 meters (5:18.80) at Vanderbilt Invitational... Also competed at Georgia Tech. In Cross Country: Finished as one of team's top 10 in every race... Opened with 16:12 effort (4K) at Belmont Invitational, then followed up with 22nd overall finish at Commodore Classic, running 5K in 20:46... Top 5K time (20:17) came at Louisville Invitational... First performance at 6K distance - 23:50 at SEC Championships - resulted in 89th overall finish. In High School: Senior captain who earned three letters in cross country and two in track... Cross country squad finished second at 2005 state meet... All-Area selection... Won team's scholar athlete award as senior.
