Oct. 4, 2007

NASHVILLE - The Vanderbilt women's tennis team plays their second tournament of the fall season as they travel to Bloomington, Ind., for the Hoosier Classic. The three-day event includes teams from Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State  and Western Michigan.

"It's a really good, strong tournament," Macdonald said. "I like getting out of the region a little bit and playing some teams that we won't see that much. We'll learn a lot. The team has been working hard. We're looking forward to it."

The Commodores are coming off an impressive opening weekend at the Furman Fall Classic, winning two flights in singles and one flight in doubles. Vanderbilt won a total of 21 singles and doubles matches on the opening weekend.

The Hoosier Classic is divided into six flights for singles and one flight for doubles with other individual players competing in a round-robin format in both singles and doubles. Play begins at the Hoosier Classic  on Friday and continues until Sunday. Complete results will be available on vucommodores.com.
