Vanderbilt set for NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Three members of the 10th-ranked Vanderbilt women's tennis team are set to begin play in the 2014 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships Wednesday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex at the University of Georgia.
Frances Altick will start things off for the Commodores in the NCAA singles draw on Wednesday at 2 p.m. (ET) against No. 37 Desirae Krawczyk of Arizona State. Altick, ranked No. 48 by the ITA, has posted a record of 30-8 in 2014, including a 9-1 mark in SEC play.
The winner of Altick's first round match will face the winner of No. 20 Maho Kowase of Georgia and No. 5 Hayley Carter of North Carolina. Carter and the Tar Heels are playing for the 2014 National Championship against UCLA today.
Courtney Colton and Lauren Mira will participate in the NCAA doubles draw for the second straight year. The duo will open the first round on Thursday against 12th-ranked Quinn Gleason and Britney Sanders of Notre Dame.
Last season Colton and Mira fell in the first round to Samantha Adams and Kenna Kilgo of Texas Tech.
Mira is making her third appearance in the NCAA doubles championship draw. Along with playing with Colton last season, the senior also played alongside Jackie Wu as a sophomore making it to the round of 16.
