WTN opens SECs with Miss. St.

2012 SEC Women's Tennis Tournament Bracket Head Coach Geoff Macdonald's squad finished the regular season with a 15-8 record, earning a national ranking of 24. They went 7-4 in SEC play to earn the five seed. Vanderbilt and Mississippi State will be meeting for the second time in just 11 days, as the Commodores took a 7-0 victory in Starkville on April 8. Jackie Wu, Lauren Mira, Marie Casares, Ashleigh Antal, Nelly Radeva all won singles matches, with Megan Gornet taking a win by default at number seven singles. The Commodores swept the doubles point with wins by Mira and Wu; Antal and Casares; and Gornet and Radeva. The Commodores enter the tournament having won their last two matches. In addition to the win over Mississippi State, they defeated Kentucky, 7-0, on April 14 to conclude the regular season.
The winner of the Vanderbilt-Mississippi State match will move to the second round and face fourth-seeded host Ole Miss on Friday, April 20 at 3:00 p.m.
