The No. 23 Vanderbilt Commodores travel to No. 15 Alabama on Friday before returning to host a match against Auburn on Sunday this coming weekend as SEC play continues.

The Commodores hosted Alabama during the ITA Kickoff Weekend in January, when the Crimson Tide, the Arizona Wildcats, and the Texas Longhorns traveled to Nashville for the event. Alabama lost to Texas, but beat Arizona in the consolation round of matches for third.

Vanderbilt has three ranked players coming into this weekend’s matches, as freshman Marie Casares rejoined Jackie Wu and Lauren Mira on the ITA’s latest list. Mira moved up to the No. 80 player, from the No. 89 player, while Casares is ranked No. 81. Wu is the No. 28 singles player in the nation.

Alabama has two ranked individuals in No. 23 Mary Anne Macfarlane and No. 57 Alexa Guarachi, along with four ranked doubles pairings. They are undefeated in conference play this spring, beating Mississippi State 6-1, Ole Miss 5-2, LSU 4-0. and Arkansas 4-1.

Vanderbilt has wins over South Carolina, LSU, and Arkansas, but dropped their match to No. 2 Florida.

The Commodores return home on Sunday to host Auburn at 1:00 pm CT at the Currey Tennis Center on the outdoor courts, barring inclement weather. Auburn is 2-2 in the conference and faces Kentucky on Friday.
