The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team steps out of conference play this weekend to take on Georgia Tech Saturday at the Currey Tennis Center.
The Yellow Jackets come into the match ranked 20th in the nation and have a 6-5 overall record. Georgia Tech has been off for the past two weeks, but fell to Miami, 4-3, in their last outing March 5.
The Yellow Jackets boast three players ranked in the latest ITA College Tennis Poll. Jillian O’Neill leads the team at 49th, while Christina Ngo and Caroline Lilley are ranked 82nd and 83rd. respectively Lilley and Sasha Krupina are the 60th ranked doubles pair.
The Commodores hold an 8-4 overall record, with a 6-2 mark in non-conference matches. Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech have both faced Northwestern and Michigan this season, with both teams defeating the Wildcats and falling to the Wolverines.
Since dropping her first match of the season, Chelsea Preeg has won 10 consecutive matches at the Nos. 3 and 2 positions. In doubles, Preeg and Jackie Wu stand 8-4 on the season. Three Commodores are ranked in the singles top 100, with Preeg leading the way at No. 69. Freshman Alex Leatu checks in at No. 91 while senior Rachael Dillon stands at 97th. Leatu and Dillon are the 63rd ranked doubles pair in the nation.
