CLEMSON, S.C. – The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team advanced to the championship of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend with a 4-0 victory over Marshall Saturday afternoon. The ’Dores will Clemson on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT, with the winner of the championship match advancing to the ITA Team Indoor Championships.

The Commodores claimed the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. Chelsea Preeg and Jackie Wu battled to a 9-8(4) victory on court two after Vanderbilt and Marshall split matches one and three.

Preeg was leading Marshall’s Catherine Kellner, 6-4, 1-0 when Kellner retired which gave the Commodores a 2-0 lead. On court 4, Dillon defeated Kristina Kopricina, 6-4, 6-2, and Alex Leatu handed Dominika Zaprazna a 6-3, 6-0 defeat in the No. 2 match for Vanderbilt to claim the victory.

Lauren Mira and Keilly Ulery’s matches had not started yet before Vanderbilt won the match.
