Dores fall at No. 12 Tennessee
Jan. 30, 2013 KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt swimming fell at No. 12 Tennessee, 155-86, Wednesday afternoon at the Allan Vanderbilt is now 2-5 overall and 0-3 in SEC action this season, while Tennessee improved to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in conference. As a team, Vanderbilt came away with wins in three events on the day. The Commodores started the meet with a win in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:47.36. Chrissy Oberg, Elly Faulkner, Lauren Torres and Caroline Thomas combined to record the win. Torres then picked up the first individual win in the 200 butterfly. Her time of 2:04.37 was enough to edge out two Lady Vols. Faulkner registered her third individual win in her last two meets with a win in the 200 yard breaststroke. She won the race with a time of 2:22.63. Oberg recorded two second place finishes on the day. She finished second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.27, while also coming in second in the 200 backstroke (2:04.28). Senior Erika Deardorf finished second in the 500 yard freestyle in a time of 5:07.11. Vanderbilt returns home for its final home meet of the season Saturday, Feb. 2, when the Commodores host Arkansas-Little Rock at 1 p.m.
