Andrea Meyers enters her second season as the diving coach for Vanderbilt. Meyers comes to Nashville after enjoying a successful collegiate career at Southern Illinois.
Meyers began her college career at the University of Northern Iowa. She still holds the one-meter diving record and competed in the NCAA Zone Diving meet.
After her freshman year, she transferred to Southern Illinois University. She was named a Scholar Athlete all three years at SIU, was named Missouri Valley All-Conference twice and was named to the Verizon Academic All-American team along with the ESPN Academic All-American Team.
Meyers was a varsity diver for four years at St. Charles East High School. While on the team, she helped the school earn its sixth consecutive state championship.
Academic success, along with athletic achievement, is important to Meyers. Her goal is to not only prepare the divers to perform the best they can on the boards, but to also encourage success in the classroom.
Meyers has coached club diving and has given private lessons. In addition to her coaching experience, Meyers has completed the US Diving Training Course for Competitve Diving. A native of St. Charles, Ill., Meyers currently resides in Nashville.
