NASHVILLE, Tenn. --Vanderbilt soccer closes out its five-game season opening home stand this weekend at the VU Soccer Complex.

The Commodores will face in-town foe Belmont on Friday at 7 p.m., before closing out the stretch against Oklahoma on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Bruins are 1-1 on the season after defeating UT-Martin 2-1 last Sunday at the Whitten Soccer Complex. Belmont returns eight starters from last year's team that finished 13-7-3 overall and 6-3-1 in Atlantic Sun play. Junior midfielder Jayme Trocino leads the team in scoring with two goals, while goalkeeper Sari Lin sports a 1.00 goals against average with seven saves.

Vanderbilt and Belmont played for the first time ever in the regular season a year ago, with the Commodores coming away with a 1-0 double overtime victory.

The Sooners are 4-0 on the season after defeating Oral Roberts (2-0) and Tulsa (3-1) last weekend. OU has outscored its opponents 11-1 on the season and are led in scoring by junior forward Whitney Palmer's four goals and two assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Kelsey Devonshire has a 0.25 goals against average with 12 saves on the year. Oklahoma returns 10 starters from a team that went 3-15-1 in its first season under head coach Nicole Nelson in 2008. They will play Middle Tennessee Friday night in Murfreesboro before facing the Dores for the first time ever in soccer on Sunday.

VU went 2-0 last weekend with wins over Mercer and Murray State. Molly Kinsella and Megan Forester both scored their first goals of the year in the win over the Bears. Forester added an assist against the Racers last Sunday to give her three points for the weekend.

Megan Kinsella scored her team leading second goal of the year against Murray State, while freshmen Chelsea Stewart and Kate Goldin both scored their first collegiate goals on Sunday.

Rachel Bachtel notched her 10th career shutout against Mercer and shared the shutout with freshman keeper Jessica Amlaw against Murray State.

Tickets for the contests can be purchased beginning an hour before the game at the entrance gate to the VU Soccer Complex.
