Nine sign to play soccer for Greene

NASHVILLE - Nine prospective student-athletes have declared their intentions to play soccer at Vanderbilt University, Head Coach Derek Greene announced earlier this month.

"This is one of the strongest, deepest classes to sign at Vanderbilt over the last few years," Greene said. "It is a large class, but each of these players has a starting skill set that will allow them to come in and push for playing time right away. Their abilities, as individuals and collectively as a group, are going to make this program stronger, and they will help lay the foundation for years to come at VU."

The class includes:

Lina Granados (Forward/Midfielder; Ashburn, Va.; Briar Woods; McLean Strikers)
Lauren Hart (Defender; Laguna Niguel, Calif.; Dana Hills; West Coast FC)
Jamie Kator (Forward; Potomac, Md.; Montgomery Blair; Herndon FC)
Andie Lakin (Midfield; Wayne, N.J.; Wayne Hills; Real New Jersey Power)
Shannon Morrish (Goalkeeper; Bradenton, Fla.; Saint Stephen's Episcopal; IMG Soccer Academy)
Erin Myers (Forward; Armonk, N.Y.; Convent of the Sacred Heart; Connecticut FC)
Keegan Thimons (Defender; Fairfield, Ct.; Fairfield Warde; Connecticut FC)
Kelsey Tillman (Forward/Midfielder; Vienna, Va.; Georgetown Visitation; Chantilly Burn)
Cheyna Williams (Forward; Hampton, Ga.; Lovejoy; United Futbol Academy)

The nine members of the class hail from eight different states, ranging from California to New York. Lina Granados and Kelsey Tillman both hail from Virginia, which is where Marylander Jamie Kator plays her club soccer. Erin Myers (Ct.) and Keegan Thimons (N.Y.) compete on the same Connecticut FC United club side.

"Our current staff, along with [former head coach] Ronnie Woodard, all worked very hard to introduce Vanderbilt and Nashville to these young women and their families," Greene said. "We are extremely excited to have each one of them joining us next fall. These players embody everything that we want in our student-athletes, and I know they will represent our program well in the classroom, on the field and in the community."

Stay tuned to in the coming weeks as we round out this year's signing class and introduce each individual student-athlete. Below are photos of all eight signees:
