Fall Academic Honor Roll includes 53 'Dores

Birmingham, Ala. - A total of 55 Vanderbilt student-athletes were named to the 2012 Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll, SEC Commissioner Mike Slive announced this week.
The 2012 Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2012 Spring, Summer and Fall terms for team's competing last semester. A total of 629 student-athletes from the league's 14 member schools were recognized.
Thirty-six student-athletes from the 2012 Music City Bowl championship football team were on the list, including All-SEC specialists Richard Kent and Carey Spear. The women's soccer team paced the conference with 19 honorees as 86 percent of the squad's upperclassmen earned a 3.0 GPA or better.
Any student-athlete who participates in a Southeastern Conference championship sport or a student-athlete who participates in a sport listed on his/her institution's NCAA Sports Sponsorship Form is eligible for nomination to the Academic Honor Roll.
