Hola from Madrid!

I've been here for a little over a week now and it has been absolutely amazing! After arriving in the city and spending the first few days getting oriented, we began classes at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. We are currently in the middle of our intensive Spanish course, centering on grammar and conversation. We will start taking multiple courses in early February.

About a week ago, we went on a day trip to Toledo--a small city about an hour south of Madrid. It actually used to be the capital of Spain and the religious center of the country. Now, it is mainly a tourist destination. I've included some pictures too.

I'm looking forward to getting to know the city of Madrid better. The people here so far have been very welcoming and there is always so much to do and see. This week we are going to el Museo del Prado and el Museo Thyssen where they have art by Dalí, Van Gough, Picasso, and more! I'll let you know how it goes!

Go `Dores!
Sarah
