BATON ROUGE, La. -- Senior Molly Kinsella scored in the 68th minute as Vanderbilt claimed a 1-0 victory on Sunday at LSU Soccer Complex.

With the victory, the Commodores secured six important points on a weekend trip through the SEC Western Division. On Friday, Molly Kinsella had the assists on classmate Nicole Adams' game-winning overtime goal.

"This was a tough road trip," VU Head Coach Ronnie Woodard said. "These are two hard places to play. For us to take home six points in a pair of crucial games is great. This team has fought hard and we're glad to bring this positive energy back to Nashville."

Sunday, freshman Duggan Hahn started the play that led to the game-winning goal. Hahn won a tackle in the Commodores offensive third and passed across from the right side to senior Megan Kinsella. Megan touched the ball through two LSU defenders to her sister in front of the net and Molly finished inside the far post.

The Commodores were out shot, 13-6, on the day, but only three of LSU's shots were on goal. Senior goalkeeper Rachel Bachtel stopped all three for her fifth shutout of the season.

Vanderbilt returns home next weekend to play host to SEC Western Division leaders Auburn (Friday) and Alabama (Sunday).
