May 31, 2013

JFK AirportThe Vanderbilt women's lacrosse team left Thursday to begin its eight-day tour through Italy. While staff and a handful of players met at the Nashville airport on Thursday morning, most team members met up with the group at John F. Kennedy Airport (right) in New York for the overnight flight to Rome.

The team will stay in Rome for three nights before traveling to Florence, the Italian Riviera and Lake Como. The Commodores are expected to play a game against the Irish national team during their stay, while also hosting a clinic for local Italian players.

Student-athletes will be submitting a running blog during the course of the trip to allow fans to follow their adventures in Italy. Click here for the landing page for the entire trip.
