NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Sophomore goalkeeper Natalie Wills has been named the ALC Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.

The Maryland native had a breakout performance in the Commodores’ 10-5 win over then-No. 9 Boston University on Saturday, notching two ground balls, two caused turnovers, and 13 saves in the victory.

Wills currently holds the third best save percentage in the ALC (.492).  In 19 career starts, she has totaled 194 saves.

As a freshman, Wills started 13 games in the goal for the Commodores, where she finished with a record of 10-5. Her play earned her national recognition as she was named to the 2009-10 U.S. Developmental team.

The 14th-ranked Commodores will return to action on Wednesday, when they host the Louisville Cardinals at the VU Lacrosse Complex.  Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT.
