Lacrosse Looks To Rebound Against Penn State

Jennifer Tapscott

The Vanderbilt women's lacrosse team will be looking to bounce back after Sunday's loss to No. 5 Virginia when they take on the No. 11 Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. CT at the Vanderbilt Lacrosse Complex.

Head Coach Cathy Swezey and her Commodores will also be looking to avenge last season's 15-7 setback to the Nittany Lions, who finished second (5-1) in the ALC last season.  One of the few bright spots in last season's match up was Kate Hickman, who put together a hat-trick in the loss.

Penn State, who earned an at-large bid to last season's NCAA tournament, will be featuring three preseason All-Conference picks, including senior Lori Havrilla (34 goals) who was the teams leading scorer in 2005.

Saturday's game is not only the season opener for the Nittany Lions, but also the first ALC game of the year for both squads.

Admission is free to all 2006 Vanderbilt Lacrosse home games.
