The Vanderbilt lacrosse team plays host to its home opener on Sunday, Feb. 10, when Kennesaw State visits the VU Lacrosse Complex for a 1 p.m. CT matchup. Admission to all Vanderbilt home lacrosse games this season is free.

Head Coach Cathy Swezey's Commodores will be looking to bounce back from a tough season-opening loss on the road at Jacksonville last weekend. Vanderbilt was defeated by the Dolphins despite five goals from senior attacker Carly Linthicum. Senior goalkeeper Chelsea Pasfield also had an impressive game for the Commodores, making a career-high 11 saves.

Last season, Vanderbilt captured a win over No. 5 Duke in its 2012 home opener and went on to boast a 6-2 record at home in 2012.

Sunday's game marks the first-ever contest as a varsity program for the Kennesaw State Owls and Head Coach Kristina Llanes, who was hired last May.

This season, Vanderbilt is playing five games in February for the first time in school history. The Commodores remain at home next weekend to play host to Denver on Saturday, Feb. 16. The following week, VU will travel to face Boston College on Feb. 20 before returning home to open American Lacrosse Conference action against league rival Northwestern on Feb. 24.
