Byner and Dunlap on 2013 preseason

Season starts Sunday for Commodore lacrosse

Junior defenders Brandi Byner and Alyssa Dunlap have been starting for Head Coach Cathy Swezey's squad since they were freshmen. The pair were elected as team captains for their upcoming junior campaign.

The duo has combined for 59 career starts in two seasons. Byner earned IWLCA All-West/Midwest Region second-team recognition following her freshmen season, while Dunlap is VU's active career leader in both ground balls and caused turnovers.

The Commodores travel to open their season, facing Jacksonville on Sunday, Feb. 3.
