Carey, Falcone on US World Cup squad

Vanderbilt graduate Ally Carey and assistant coach Amber Falcone have been named to the U.S. national team's 18-woman roster for the Federation of International Lacrosse's 2013 Women's World Cup this summer in Oshawa, Canada. This summer will mark the first World Cup for Carey, who graduated from Vanderbilt last summer and has spent the past 18 months on Team USA's roster. Falcone will be making her second appearance after being named the best defender at the 2009 Women's Lacrosse, which Team USA won by defeating Australia in the championship game. The 2013 FIL Women's World Cup will take place July 10-20 in Oshawa, Canada. Head Coach Ricky Fried announced Team USA's roster after the recent US Lacrosse Champion Challenge. Team USA's 24-woman roster swept three games at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., this past weekend. On Saturday, the Americans defeated Syracuse, 19-11, before topping Team England, 20-9. On Sunday, Team USA dispatched Northwestern by a tally of 16-9. The complete Team USA roster follows:
