Dec. 12, 2011

Vanderbilt head women’s golf coach Greg Allen has announced the signings of Jenny Hahn of Henderson, Nevada, and Morgan Ransom of Blacklick, Ohio, have each signed a National Letter of Intent with the Commodores and will be eligible to compete for Vanderbilt in the fall of 2012.
"Jenny and Morgan are a perfect fit for Vanderbilt and the ideal young ladies for our program,” said Allen.  “They both have enjoyed success on the national level and I look for them to come in and make an immediate impact."

Hahn, who is ranked ninth in the Polo Golf and Golfweek rankings for the class of 2012 and was a member of the 2011 Rolex Junior All-American Team, has played in seven USGA championships in her junior career, which included the U.S. Women's Amateur, the U.S. Girl's Junior, and the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship. She was a medalist at the U.S. Girl's Junior Qualifier, shooting a career low, 7-under par, 65, and also finished first at the AJGA Ping Phoenix Junior Open and the Toyota Tour Cup at PGA West.  She also claimed the Nevada State Junior Championship in 2008 and won the Nevada State High School Championship in 2009.
“I see Jenny as a player that will not only come in and play right away, but she might just contend for the number one spot on the team,” said Allen.

Ransom, won the 2010 Division II Ohio High School State Tournament with a 71-69 and also claimed medalist honors at the 2011 Hudson Junior Invitational in Ohio and the 2011 Southern Ohio Junior PGA Championship.  She was also a Rolex All-American Honorable Mention selection in 2010, and was the PGA Junior Series Player of the Year in 2009.  She also captained the Varsity Boys Team at her high school, Columbus Academy, and was named the team’s MVP.
“Morgan’s game is solid and getting better every day,” said Allen. “She too has the ability to be a game-changer for us.”
