Women's Golf
Martindale, Stratton, Hahn named All-SEC

May 6, 2013

The Commodore women's golf team had three players honored by the Southeastern Conference Monday for their exploits during the 2012-13 campaign.  Sophomore Kendall Martindale, Vanderbilt's leading scorer, was named as an All-SEC First Team selection, senior Lauren Stratton was selected to the second team, and freshman Jenny Hahn was chosen by the league to the All-Freshman squad.

"I'm very proud of these young ladies and what they've accomplished this season," said Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen.  "They have all been extremely solid this season, both on and off the golf course, and are extremely deserving of these accolades.  I'm anxious to see what lies ahead for us as postseason play approaches."

Martindale becomes the 10th Commodore to be named to the All-SEC First Team, joining current teammate Lauren Stratton, who was named to the first team in 2012.  The Jefferson City, Tenn., native led the Commodores with a 73.48 stroke average and posted five top 10 finishes in 2012-13 and two top fives.  Her best finish of the season came at Vanderbilt's own Mason Rudolph Championship, when she placed in a tie for fourth, while also carding a top five at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate.

Stratton, from Thompson Station, Tenn., played in all 27 rounds in her senior campaign and had a 74.11 stroke average for the season.  She had three top five finishes this season - the Cougar Classic, Liz Murphey Fall Preview, and Central District Invitational) - with her best finish coming at the Central District, when she tied for second place.

Hahn, from Henderson, Nev., and in her first season with the Commodores, played in all 27 rounds as a true freshman and posted a stroke average of 75.22.  Her best finish of the season came at the Insperity Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate, when she ended the tournament in a tie for third out of 99 golfers with a total of 218 (70-73-75).  She also carded a top 20 finish at the Central District Invitational and at the SEC Championship.
