WG heads to SEC Championship Friday

The #13-ranked Commodore women's golf team travels to Birmingham, Ala., this weekend to take part in the 2014 SEC Championship at the Greystone Golf and Country Club. The field will feature all 14 schools in the SEC, which includes six teams ranked in the latest top 25 rankings.
The 14 teams will be competing on the Founder's Course, which will be formatted as a par-72, 6,050-yard layout.
Arkansas is the highest rated team heading into the championship and stands at number four in the latest Golfweek/Golfstat rankings. Other top 25 teams include the Commodores, #6 South Carolina, #7 Alabama, #16 LSU, #19 Florida, and #22 Auburn.
Vanderbilt will send juniors Kendall Martindale and Irina Gabasa, sophomore Jennifer Hahn, and freshmen Simin Feng and Antonia Scherer. Feng leads the Commodores in stroke average for the season, averaging 72.29 strokes per round. Martindale is second at 73.13 strokes.
The tournament begins on Friday and continues to Sunday, with live scoring found on Golfstat.com throughout the weekend.
