Former Commodore All-American Jacqui Concolino shot a two-under par, 70, in the first round of the Kraft Nabisco Championship and is in a tie for sixth after the first day of play. The Kraft Nabisco is the LPGA's first major of the season, and it is played in Ranch Mirage, Calif., at the Mission Hills Country Club's Dinah Shore Tournament Course.
Concolino, who lettered from 2004-08 and was a first-team All-American in 2007, became the first Vanderbilt letterwinner to tee it up at the Kraft Nabisco Thursday. She responded with five birdies in her round, and trails leaders Na Yeon Choi of South Korea, Suzann Petterson of Finland, and Jodi Ewart Shadoff of England by two strokes. Concolino is tied for sixth with 10 other golfers heading into the second round Friday.
Concolino will tee off at 8:30 Pacific time Friday, with live coverage airing on the Golf Channel from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. CT, and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. CT.
