Vanderbilt women finish fifth
Sept. 23, 2012 FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Vanderbilt women’s golf wrapped up the Mason Rudolph Championship on Sunday afternoon with a fifth-place finish and a total score of 36-over 900. Georgia’s Emilie Burger finished first at even-par 216 for the entire tournament. Burger was the only competitor that was not over-par for the weekend. Arizona won the women’s Mason Rudolph Championship at 25-over par. The women’s scores from the weekend are the highest recorded in the history of the Mason Rudolph Championship. Kendall Martindale finished the tournament in a tie for fourth at five-over. Martindale, who was the highest Commodore finisher, shot a one-over 73 on Sunday. Rene Sobolewski posted a six-over for the weekend, which put her in a tie for sixth-place. Sobolewski shot a final round of two-over 74. Lauren Stratton and Jenny Hahn wrapped up their weekend with a three-over 75 on Sunday. Both Stratton and Hahn finished tied for 28th at 13-over for the tournament. Irina Gabasa finished her third round, after being disqualified in the second round, with a seven-over 79. Morgan Ransom shot a final round six-over 78 to finish in a tie for 49th. Ransom ended the tournament at 18-over. Vanderbilt will get back on the course Oct. 5-7, when the Commodores travel to Athens, Ga., for the Fall Preview.
