PONCE, PUERTO RICO - Junior Team USA, with Vanderbilt bowlers in two of the team's four spots, captured the team gold medal at the 2013 Pan American Bowling Confederation Youth Championships in Ponce, Puerto Rico on Thursday.

The victory gave Commodore junior Natalie Goodman and sophomore Robyn Renslow a coveted gold medal to go with the two silver medals they earned earlier in the week in doubles and trios competion.

Additionally, Renslow earned a bronze medal in the all-around competition where scores from all events are tabulated.

Junior Team USA needed a big final game to move from third to first place and got it with a 919, the highest score of the tournament. In that game, Mary Wells (Central Missouri) shot 249, Sarah Lokker (Arkansas State) added 246, Renslow had 213 and Goodman contributed a 211 game on the longer pattern, which was preferred by the US team.

Goodman and Renslow will next compete in the Junior Gold Tournament next week in Detroit along with six other Commodore bowlers.
