NASHVILLE – Rising senior Kristin Quah of the national champion Vanderbilt bowling team has been honored as a Google Cloud Academic All-America presented by CoSIDA. Quah, who earned a spot on the third team, became one of two bowlers nationwide to earn Academic All-America honors.
Quah, who helped lead Vanderbilt bowling to its second national championship in April, hails from Singapore and is a two-time Academic All-District selection and earns her first Academic All-American honor. A 3.95 biomedical and electrical engineering major, Quah earned third team All-American honors from the nation's head bowling coaches this season, which places her among the top-15 bowlers nationally. Quah also earned the Elite 90 award given to the person with the highest GPA at the national championship.
Equally impressive on the lanes, Quah won last fall's Sam Houston Kat Klash and was on three all-tournament teams. She has a well-earned reputation as one of the NCAA's leading spare converters, ranking third nationally in makeable spares and 9-count spares. She was also sixth in the percentage of games at 200 or more pins.
