Bowlers to Texas: Vanderbilt will compete in Sam Houston State's Kat Klash Friday-Sunday. The tournament will be held at the Palace Lanes in Houston.

The entrants include Arkansas State, Grambling, Fairleigh Dickinson, Jackson State, Long Island, Louisiana Tech, Monmouth, Nebraska, Prairie View, Sacred Heart, Saint Francis (NY), Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, Southern, Texas Southern, Tulane, Alabama-Birmingham, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Valparaiso, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Success at Kat Klash: A year ago Vanderbilt dominated the tournament, held at a different venue than this year, until being upset in the semi-finals and finishing third. Led by tournament MVP Amanda Fry, the `Dores set a school record with a 1,156 team game, had the second-best 4-game Baker on record (920) and Fry's 290 game was third-best on Vanderbilt charts.
Tourney set up: Friday will be six 4-game Baker sets starting at 10:10 a.m. Saturday's team games begin at 9:30 and Sunday's bracket play starts at 8:30. Bracket play (best four of seven Bakers) determines the winner.
