Texas Tournament: The Commodores are in the Prairie View A & M Invitational in Arlington, Tex. Friday through Sunday. The tournament is held at the United States Bowling Congress' International Research Center, a state of the art facility home to Team USA.
What a Difference a Week Makes: Last week the Commodores were heading to frigid Reading, Pa., in hopes of recovering from a sub-par performance the week prior. On Thursday the team departed for the Lone Star state with temperatures in the 60's and 70's forecast on the heels of a much improved showing at Kutztown.
Competing teams: Arkansas State, Central Missouri, Jackson State, UMES, Nebraska, Norfolk State, Prairie View, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, Texas Southern, Valparaiso and Vanderbilt.
Educational Side Trip: In keeping with the school and coach's philosophies, the Commodores will arrive a few hours earlier in Dallas and travel to the site of the Texas Book Depository, where just over 50 years ago Lee Harvey Oswald hid to assassinate President John Kennedy.
Quoting Coach John Williamson: "The field is smaller than some but the quality of the teams is very, very strong. There are a number of powerful teams - seven of the nation's Top 10 will be there. This is a very good tournament."
Coverage: Bowl.com will again have a live-stream.
Tourney Format: There will be five, 4-game Baker matches Friday starting at 12:20 p.m. (CT). Five team games are scheduled for Saturday starting at 9:40 a.m. and Sunday's bracket is best-of-seven beginning at 8:30 a.m.
