Fry Paces 'Dores at Team USA Trials

Jan. 6, 2014

LAS VEGAS---Vanderbilt sophomore Amanda Fry and alumnus Brittni Hamilton lead the school's eight representatives at the USBC Team USA Trails after three of five rounds.

Fry tied for eighth Monday, improving her placing for the third straight day,and is 14th in the composite standings, within striking range of the top echelon that could produce a berth with either Team USA or, more likely, Junior Team USA. The Antelope, Calif., southpaw averaged 221.50 on Monday's short pattern.

Hamilton is seventh overall and is bidding for a Team USA position. She is a 2012 graduate. Josie Earnest, Vanderbilt's assistant coach, has not found the going easy and is back in the pack in 24th place.

Other Commodores in the elite field are Robyn Renslow (42nd), Natalie Goodman (47th), Tori Ferris, Giselle Poss and Kendall Dellinger.

The top three finishers after the five grueling days are assured Team USA spots and two at-large picks will also be made.
