LAS VEGAS - Vanderbilt assistant coach Josie Earnest and Stephanie Nation finished in a tie for fourth in double competition Tuesday at the PABCON Adult Championships, just missing the Bronze Medal.
Earnest and Nation shared fourth with Team USA teammates Diandra Asbaty and Leann Hulsenberg with identical 217.00 averages over six games. A Columbian duo that included former NCAA Player of the Year Maria Rodriguez won by averaging 229.83 with a Mexican team second and a Canadian pair third, 43 pins ahead of the Americans.
"Stephanie and I both thought we bowled well all day," Earnest said. "We had a couple of unfortunate breaks but overall we are seeing positive results. By far the most important thing here is the overall position of Team USA and we are in a good position."
The tournament continues with trios competition Wednesday. Earnest will join forces with Asbaty and Hulsenberg as one of the two Team USA units. Complete coverage and live streaming is found on bowl.com.
