Game Notes
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The 12th-ranked Commodore women's basketball team opens a five-game homestand against local rival Lipscomb on Wednesday, Dec. 20, in the first round of the VU Holiday Classic at Memorial Gymnasium.
Indiana State and Longwood will open the day's action at 5 p.m., with the VU-Lipscomb game to follow 30 minutes after (approximately 7 p.m.CT).
Thursday's action is set for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., with the consolation game to precede the championship.
Admission to all four tournament games is free to all Vanderbilt faculty and staff members with valid VU or VUMC ID cards.
Season tickets are still available beginning at $25 for lower level seats. The Commodores will play nine more contests at home this season following the Holiday Classic, including seven Southeastern Conference games. Non-conference single-day tickets are available for $5.
Vanderbilt has opened the season at 9-1 for the fourth time in six years. The Commodores recently knocked off BIG EAST rival South Florida on the road as junior Liz Sherwood and sophomore Christina Wirth each posted double-doubles.
At 3-6, Lipscomb has not played since a Dec. 4 loss at the hands of Murray State. The Bisons have notched wins against Fisk, Austin Peay and Jacksonville this season.
