Getting to Know ... Paige Warren

Paige Warren makes her way south from Dublin, Ohio and will be a freshman on the women’s basketball team this season. Warren and the rest of her Commodore teammates have officially opened the 2017-18 slate and as practices got underway last week Warren caught up with to talk about some of her favorite things.

Age I picked up a basketball: 6 years old
When I was a kid I tried to be like:  Michael Jordan
Three words that describe the way I play basketball: Hardworking, supportive, intense 
What I need to improve on to be a better player: Self-confidence and offense 
The thing that impresses me most about Coach White: Her strength
Favorite sport other than basketball: Volleyball 
Favorite musical performer: Chance the Rapper 
Favorite movie: The Way Way Back 
Nobody will believe I watch this TV show: The Walking Dead
Favorite midnight snack: Cereal
Favorite thing about myself: My sense of humor
Dream Date:  Movies  
My basketball “dream team” would be: Candace parker, Shaquille O’Neal, LeBron James, Kevin Love (I am the sub lol) 
The best tasting food I can make: Chicken Parmesan 
Three things on my bucket list are: Skydiving, Scuba dive, Traveling the world 
Favorite athlete to watch in another sport: Serena Williams  
Favorite thing to do away from basketball: Sleep and Eat
One thing my hometown is famous for: Ohio State Buckeyes 
My best non-athletic talent: Untying knots 
The person I’d love to trade places with for a day: Morgan Roche 
if I won the lottery, I would: Donate to a charity, buy gifts for my friends and travel 
Ultimate vacation destination: Hawaii 
The best advice I’ve received (and list who gave it to you): Be where your feet are - Morgan Roche
The most famous person(s) I’ve met: I have met no one famous lol   
Biggest influence in my life: God 
Most important thing I’ve learned since coming to Vanderbilt: Don’t take shortcuts
My advice to young people is: Don’t let your past failures determine your future successes 
I chose to attend Vanderbilt over these schools: Xavier, Minnesota, Iowa
